Who needs WPC ETA approval?
- Importers of wireless products, since customs checks for ETA on radio-equipped goods
- Indian brands sourcing Bluetooth or Wi-Fi products from overseas factories
- Manufacturers of IoT, smart-home, automotive and industrial wireless devices
- E-commerce sellers listing wireless products on marketplaces
Typical products include Bluetooth earphones and speakers, smart watches, wireless mice and keyboards, routers and access points, smart TVs, POS terminals, RFID readers, wireless microphones and drones.
WPC ETA process with DGC
- Radio assessment: we identify every radio module, the frequency bands and the output power in your device.
- RF testing: we coordinate the RF test report from an accredited lab, or review your existing report.
- Documentation: we prepare the technical specifications, block diagram, authorisation letters, IEC and business documents.
- Online application: we register on the DoT portal and file the ETA application.
- Query handling: we follow up with the department until the approval is granted.
- Import support: we give guidance on using the ETA for customs clearance and marketplace listings.
Documents you'll need
- RF test report from an accredited laboratory
- Technical specifications, block diagram and user manual
- Manufacturer's authorisation letter (for imported products)
- Importer Exporter Code (IEC), GST and business registration documents
- Product photographs and label artwork
Tip: Start ETA in parallel with BIS CRS rather than afterwards. They run on separate timelines, and doing them together can save weeks before launch.
